E-learning is introduced to students

South African government has introduced e-learning to help grade 12 learners as well as university students to keep up to date with their studies. E-learning is learning conducted via electronic media, typically on the internet. This form of learning get most parents worried about the cost of data. Though most institutions offer to pay for the access to the information, the problem remains that some people cannot affordtoget data to be able to do researches for their assignments. The issue of data is not the only problem but also the issue of  not having internet access. Most students live in rural areas where they have to go to town or malls to get internet access. This problem gives me a real concern because these students will remain behind in their studies. Lets hear your views on this matter.

Gender based violence during lockdown

Image
Police minister, Bheki Cele announced that there has been 87 000 cases of gender based violence in South Africa during the first week of the national lockdown.  This shows  that certain people still see others as objects. How loud can one cry to be heard? This country has been facing this issue for quite some time now and it seems to be growing faster. These cases are living a concern for the victims because they will be forced to stay with their abusers during this lockdown.  If   you are at risk of abuse or know someone who is Report it to the GBV Command Centre: 0800 428 428 or *120*786#.  This issue affects us all. We need to work together in fighting it.

No alcohol during lockdown can rehabilitate some of South African citizens.

South Africa is in lockdown and only a few people are allowed to work. This has not only have bad impact to the people, others are benefiting from it. Many families are struggling to put food on the table, while they have that one person who works but spend all the money on alcohol. These kind of people can be really abusive when under the influence of alcohol. The government has instructed against the selling of  a number of things during this twenty-one days lockdown  and alcohol is one of them. This means that more people can spend their money on important things and more people will not go to bed hungry. However, spending more time with family will open the eyes of the abusers and make them realize how much they are loved. Let us hope this lockdown would reduce the consumption of alcohol in South African especially on the youth.

South African lockdown

President Ramaphosa announced the lockdown of the country. The problem with this announcement is that street venders and those who hustle to put food on the table for their families, should stay at home while the big retail stores are operating. In my opinion i doubt the president considered the poor people. The least he could have done is to atleast offer them an insentive to support them throughout these twenty-one days. This lockdown will force families to go to bed with empty stomach, while the parents are blaming themselves for not being able to provide. Its tochure for them. Its better to die of Coronavirus because its a deadly virus that cannot be cured, then to die of hunger that could have been prevented. Lets get talking people. What are your views on this issue.

A confused South African

South Africa cannot afford to pay for everybody's medical needs. If it happens that more than fifty percent of the citizens get infected by Covid-19 Coronavirus, in my opinion, most people who will die are the black and poor people. I think this virus is here to reduce the over population in this country. I have a fear as black person. I ask my self if i ever test positive how will i survive. They will take me away and who knows what will become of me after that!! Being isolated from those you love and who matter most in your life is unimaginably hard and painful. That how people who tested positive on Coronavirus feel, at least that how i would feel if i were to be taken away from my family and my life. This virus seems to be taking over our lives. It is detecting how we should life. I cannot help the thoughts on my hamd that this virus could be one of those way to influence how we live our lives. Living in fear unable to hug amd kiss those we love. What if this virus is here ...

Load Shading to continue this weekend.

Image
Load Shading to continue this weekend. After several days of stage four load shedding due to a trip at Koeberg's Unit 1, the power utility announced that they will implement stage two. These changes were implemented this morning at 07:00am. Eskom said. "This will help increase generation capacity and ease the scale of load shedding." This seems to great news for businesses. It has been work as normal to businesses in boardwalk mall as load shedding is allocated later when most businesses are closed. This do not only bring joy to the business sector but also to South Africa  as a whole. This reduces the stress levels.
